About Us
We are a long established practice in Bedford. We previously were situated in De Parys Avenue but moved to our present, larger premises in 1999.
The practice has four partners, David and Heidrun Chennells, Gill Monsell and Gaynor Dudley. We have ten vets in total, six full-time and four part-time. We encourage owners to see the same vet in order to gain case continuity but you are welcome to see any vet available as necessary.
Our fifteen nurses comprise of twelve full-time and two part time employees. Ten of our nurses are fully qualified, five are trainees. The veterinary nurse training takes a minimum of two years with demanding exams and a nationally recognised qualification at the end. Acorn House is an approved VNTC (Veterinary Nurse Training Centre) and we have four internal assessors (3 nurses, 1 vet). Acorn House is listed as tier 2 veterinary practice in the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons practice standards scheme. (www.rcvs.org.uk).
